Mindful about materials
Did you know that 2/3 of the environmental impact of our frames happens before they’re even made? The choice of acetates and metals plays a huge role in the durability and sustainability of our glasses. Whether recycled, biodegradable, or from natural origins, we’ve got it covered.
We’ve decided to rank our materials based on their social and environmental impact.
Material ranking
1.Recycled acetate: Thanks to our partner Mazzucchelli, we recover acetate waste to create new materials. Our most circular material!
2.Eco acetate: We’ve achieved a 100% natural acetate by replacing chemical plasticizers with natural ones from renewable sources. Not circular, but definitely eco-friendly.
3.Traditional acetate: A natural-origin classic mixed with plasticizers. We only use this material when we can’t get certain colors in the other, more sustainable options.
4.Stainless steel: Durable and recyclable, though its production has a high environmental impact.
5.Discarded materials: We avoid high-impact environmental or low-quality materials, like conventional injected plastic.

We’ve swapped our classic cellulose case, which was 100% natural and recyclable, for a new case made from recycled RPET material. The result? Less environmental impact and you seem to love them more!
Microfiber Cloths
Here, our plan didn't quite work out. We had to do something with the synthetic microfiber cloths, so we decided to switch to RPET, which is made 100% from recycled plastic bottles. However, its performance in cleaning lenses isn't the best. In this case, we had to prioritize quality. We're back to square one, but at least we use them to collaborate with our favorite artists :) Miller & Marc x Monja Gentschow.
